I've been thinking about formats for drills, exercises, theorems.
The drills should be inconspicuously incorporated in the text
(Drill: maybe this is the right way to do it). The exercises will
eventually be collected at ends of chapters; since the word _Exercise_
will eventually be removed, it should be on a separate line. And since
exercises will be indented to leave room for numbers, they should be
indented now. I will move exercises out of the interiors of paragraphs.
Attached is Papadimitriou's book. I see he does things like this:
Exercises are indented beside their numbers, with no paragraph indent.
There are no drills.
Theorems (pg 125) have boldface headers on same line, are stated in
italics. The proofs start with boldface italic ``Proof,'' then
ordinary text ended by a slug. No indentation for theorems.
Definitions (pg 170) are indented roman; header such as Definition 4.1.1
is on separate line in gothic.
